Class Info Copy – June 2018

All classes are held at Yoga Now studio, on the 4th floor of Edinburgh Palette, 151 London Road, EH7 6AE (room 4.27) in a beautiful, warm yoga studio with a new floor, dimmable lighting and a wall for yoga ropes. All equipment is provided. Iyengar yoga is suitable for everyone but please advise us first of any medical condition which may affect your participation in the class and please read the class description before booking, to check it is suitable for you.
If you book for a class from this page, you can choose to pay for a term of classes and register for the same class each week for the term. You can change your registration at any time and use the class credits at any suitable class within the term. You can also book for classes from the Timetable.

Level 1 classes

This is the place to start learning about yoga. Suitable for those new to yoga and those with some experience wanting to work on the foundation asanas. Learn how to align your body correctly and find the actions in the body that will help you progress to more challenging asanas.

Monday 6 – 7.15pm, with Izabela

Tuesday 7.30 - 8.45 pm, with Lucy

Thursday 8 - 9.15 pm, with Alasdair

General classes

Suitable for all students - variations and adaptations will be given to accommodate varying levels of experience within the class.

Friday 9.45 - 11 am, with Lucy

Saturday 11 - 12.30, with Cynthia

Gentle class

This class moves at a slower pace to allow more time to adjust and use equipment. Suitable for those with minor health conditions or injuries and those seeking a slower, less challenging class.

Wednesday 10 - 11.30 am, with Lucy

Dynamic class

A faster paced class, including more sequences of poses than the standard classes. Not suitable for those with medical conditions or injuries. For those who need to move!

Wednesday 7 - 8.15 pm, with Izabela

Level 2 classes

For those with at least one year's previous experience of Iyengar yoga. These classes include Shoulder Stand regularly and introduce Headstand.

Tuesday 6 - 7.15 pm, with Lucy

Level 3 classes

At this level, students should be confident in inversions (head and shoulder stand) and have a regular home practice. More challenging asanas are introduced and pranayama is taught.
